Product Description

This 1901H Hong Kong One Cent Copper Coin (Victoria Martin Mint Edition), professionally certified and encapsulated by the internationally authoritative NGC, is graded XF40 BN with a natural brown patina. It belongs to the last year of Queen Victoria's reign and is a Hong Kong-made copper subsidiary coin. Bearing the "H" mint mark, it is extremely rare and a core collectible specimen in the Hong Kong Victorian era coin series.

Obverse | Portrait of Queen Victoria

The coin features the inscription "VICTORIA QUEEN" around the rim. The center depicts Queen Victoria's classic headdress and crown, with complete detail in the tiara and collar.

XF40 Condition Characteristics:Excellent circulation grade. The overall outline is intact, and the details of the Queen's portrait are clear. Only the raised points of the portrait show slight natural wear from over a century of circulation. The BN label indicates that this coin has never undergone acid washing, wiping, polishing, or other artificial refurbishment, preserving the rich, deep brown patina naturally formed after minting, with a calm and antique color.

Reverse Side | Bilingual (Chinese and Western) Denomination Design

Features a double-layered beaded border. The outer ring is engraved with the English year "HONG KONG ONE CENT 1901," the mint mark "H," and the denomination. The center displays the traditional Chinese characters "香港一分" (Hong Kong One Cent) vertically. This coexistence of Chinese and Western characters is a unique characteristic of colonial Hong Kong's monetary era. The Chinese characters are complete, and the beaded border is free of broken teeth, defects, or corrosion pits. The edge is smooth and undeformed.

Additional Note:The "H" mark represents the exclusive mint mark of the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, England, a key distinguishing feature from the Royal Mint version.
