1. About us

Harbour Currency sells banknotes, coins and related collectibles. Our website is operated from Hong Kong unless otherwise stated.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account or checking out. You may register with email and password, sign in with Google, or have an account created automatically during checkout. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.

3. Products, listings and photographs

Each listing includes photographs, descriptions, stock status, price and other details that form part of the item you are buying. You are responsible for reviewing all listing information and images carefully before placing an order.

Collectibles may show natural wear, toning, printing variations, counting marks, folds or characteristics of grading holders and slabs. Colours and condition may appear differently on screen depending on your device and lighting.

Unless we state otherwise in writing, items are sold on an “as described / as pictured” basis. Minor differences that do not materially affect the identity, grade stated or value of the item do not constitute a defect.

4. Graded items

Where an item is described as graded, encapsulated or certified, that description refers to the grading company, grade, certification number and holder stated in the listing at the time of sale.

We rely on third-party grading companies and do not independently re-grade sealed items. We do not guarantee future regrading results, market value, liquidity or that a holder will remain tamper-free after delivery.

Any certification URL or serial number shown is provided for reference only. If you require verification, you should check directly with the relevant grading company before purchase.

Opening, removing or tampering with a grading holder after delivery is at your own risk and may void any remedy we would otherwise offer.

5. Pricing, payment and orders

Prices are shown in Hong Kong dollars unless stated otherwise. International shipping fees may be quoted in USD and converted at checkout using the applicable exchange rate.

We accept online card and wallet payments through Stripe where available, and cash payment for MTR station meetup orders as shown at checkout. Mail orders are processed only after successful payment in the method selected at checkout.

Placing an order is an offer to purchase. We may refuse, cancel or limit any order before acceptance, including for stock unavailability, suspected fraud, export restrictions, errors in price or description, or system mistakes.

If a pricing, description or stock error is discovered before fulfilment, we may cancel the order and refund any payment received. We will notify you using the contact details provided at checkout.

An order is accepted only when we send an order confirmation or mark the order as confirmed in your account.

6. Shipping, delivery and customs

Delivery options, fees and estimated timelines are described on our Shipping page and at checkout. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed and may vary due to carrier delays, customs inspection, weather or other events outside our control.

For mailed orders, risk of loss or damage generally passes to you when the parcel is handed to the carrier, subject to applicable law and the carrier’s terms.

International buyers are solely responsible for import duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage charges, permits and any local restrictions on banknotes, coins or numismatic items. Refusal to pay customs charges, seizure by authorities or return of a parcel due to import rules is at your risk; we are not obliged to refund shipping or other costs in such cases except where required by law.

7. MTR station meetup

MTR station meetup orders require you to provide accurate contact details and to respond promptly to messages arranging date, time and exact meeting point.

Meetup times are proposed by us and agreed with you by email or WhatsApp. If you cannot attend the agreed time, you must notify us as soon as possible to reschedule.

If you fail to attend a confirmed meetup without reasonable notice, or cannot be reached using the contact details provided, we may cancel the order, retain reasonable costs already incurred, or relist the item without further obligation to hold it for you.

Payment for meetup orders is due in cash at meetup unless we agree otherwise in writing. Items will not be handed over until payment is received in full.

Please inspect items carefully at meetup. Once you accept the item and complete payment at meetup, the sale is treated as fulfilled except for claims based on material misdescription under Section 8.

8. Final sale, returns and refunds

Because many items are unique or limited-stock collectibles, all sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed by us in writing.

We do not offer change-of-mind returns, remorse returns or returns due to market price movement after purchase.

If you believe an item is materially not as described, damaged in transit, or missing from your order, you must contact us within 3 days of delivery for mail orders, or at the time of meetup for MTR orders, and provide clear photos and your order number.

Approved remedies, if any, may include partial refund, replacement where available, or return subject to our prior written approval and return shipping at your cost. Items must be returned in the same condition as delivered, with all packaging, holders and accessories.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by contract.

9. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

• Use the website for unlawful purposes or to submit false information.
• Attempt to interfere with website security or other users’ accounts.
• Resell or misuse content, images or listings without permission.

10. Intellectual property

Website content, branding, photographs and text are owned by Harbour Currency or used with permission. You may not copy or reproduce them for commercial use without our written consent.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or purchase of items. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your location provide otherwise.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the website after the update date shown below.
