1905 Hong Kong One Cent NGC XF 45 BN

1 in stock

Product Description

This 1905 Hong Kong one-cent copper coin (Edward VII version), professionally certified and encapsulated by the internationally authoritative NGC, is graded XF45 BN with a natural brown patina. It belongs to the early Edward VII copper subsidiary coins of British Hong Kong. Due to its long history, this coin, with its complete natural brown patina, is extremely rare and a core collector's specimen among early colonial copper coins of Hong Kong.

Obverse | Portrait of King Edward VII

The coin features the inscription "EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR" around the rim. The center depicts a profile portrait of King Edward VII with a crown and long beard; the crown decorations, beard, and collar engraving details are clearly discernible.

XF45 Condition Characteristics:Extremely fine circulation grade. The main design outlines are intact, and the main details of the portrait are preserved. Only the high points show natural wear from long-term circulation. The BN designation indicates that the coin has never undergone cleaning, acid washing, polishing, or other artificial refurbishment treatments, retaining the uniform brown patina naturally formed after minting, with a warm and antique color.

Reverse Design | A Fusion of Chinese and Western Inscriptions

Features a double-beaded border, with the outer ring encircling the inscription "HONG KONG ONE CENT 1905". The center displays the traditional Chinese characters "香港一分" (One Cent of Hong Kong) vertically. This coexistence of Chinese and Western inscriptions is a unique characteristic of British Hong Kong's monetary era. The Chinese characters are complete, and the beaded border is free of damage, curling, deformation, or corrosion pits.
