This is a 10 Piastar banknote from the Arab Republic of Egypt, catalog number Pick#189a, legal year 1940, actual printing and circulation period ND 1998-2002. It features the signature of Finance Minister El Ghareeb, is graded 65 (Gem Uncirculated) by PMG, and comes with a high-quality EPQ paper label. It is a classic small-denomination Egyptian banknote themed around ancient civilizations.

Front View Details

  • The overall design features a retro-style engraved pattern in purple-blue and beige. The top is inscribed with "THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT CURRENCY NOTE" and the face value of 10 PIASTRES.
  • The main image on the left is of the Muhammad Ali Mosque, with a radiating, finely engraved background highlighting the building's outline. The large oval blank area on the right is where the original banknote stamping would have been placed.
  • Below is the signature of the Minister of Finance, "M. Elghareeb.", and his title, "MINISTER OF FINANCE." The four corners and border are decorated with European-style scrolling floral engravings, and the number 10 is repeated in the upper right and lower left corners.
