Undyed (issued in 1936) Hong Kong Government George VI Purple Dollar Banknote, Pick #312 KNB2a, Serial Number U854204, printed by the British BWC Printing House; the obverse features a portrait of King George VI on the right, with "Hong Kong Government" printed vertically in reverse, and the traditional Chinese characters for "One Dollar" printed in both directions, indicating that this banknote was legal tender, accompanied by the signature of the Financial Secretary; the reverse features a deep purple-red wave pattern as the main visual element, with the words "One Dollar ONE DOLLAR" in large vertical characters in the center, and markings at the four corners. It is a classic royal series banknote issued by the Hong Kong government before World War II.
