Product Description

This is a vintage Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong 5 Dollars banknote, serial number P512631, printed by the Thomas De La Rue printing press in the UK. It is part of the classic Standard Chartered Building 5 Dollar series.

Obverse Details：The top features the words "Standard Chartered Bank" horizontally, with "Hong Kong" vertically printed on the left and right sides. The left side depicts a map of the Standard Chartered Bank headquarters building, with the double lion bank coat of arms in the center. The denomination "FIVE DOLLARS" is printed in both Chinese and English. The bottom features the signatures of the accountant and the Hong Kong General Manager, with the serial number corresponding to the previous and next signatures.

Reverse Details：The main image is a panoramic view of the Standard Chartered Building on Victoria Harbour, complemented by mountain and water scenery. The four corner borders feature images of four traditional Hong Kong industries: Chinese laborers, elephants, cattle, and sailboats, surrounded by finely engraved security features. The bank name and denomination "THE CHARTERED BANK, FIVE DOLLARS" are printed at the top and bottom.

Condition Description

The paper is in excellent condition, with no tears, perforations, or severe mold. Color gradation is complete, indicating it is in pristine, uncirculated condition. It was stored in a transparent protective bag and shows no signs of washing, ironing, repairs, or other artificial treatment.
