Product Description

This is a 1959 North Korean People's Republic 5 Chon aluminum pattern coin, Numista number 15625, KM#2. The obverse features the original national emblem, including a five-pointed star, a dam, and a power transmission tower, flanked by grain and floral patterns. The country's name is inscribed in Hangul around the outer ring, and the year of issue, 1959, is engraved at the bottom. The reverse features a three-dimensional numeral "5" in the center, along with the denomination in Hangul, and is bordered by a traditional meander pattern.

This is an uncirculated pattern coin. The relief is rich and clear, the surface has a complete mirror-like finish, and there are no signs of circulation wear, scratches, or oxidation. The craftsmanship is far superior to that of ordinary circulating coins, making it a rare and valuable early North Korean trial strike.
