This is a 1947 North Korean 5-won watermark banknote, Pick #9, printed by the Goznak Printing Plant in the Soviet Union, serial number NR263882. The obverse features a portrait of farmers and workers, with the Chinese characters "North Korean Central Bank Note" in vertical lines, accompanied by bilingual Chinese and Korean text and an official red seal. The reverse features a landscape of Mount Paektu, flanked by the Korean characters "오원" and the Chinese characters "伍圆" (5 Won). The banknote contains an internal security watermark and is a classic example of North Korea's first legal tender.
