1949 Hong Kong Government George VI One Dollar Green Banknote, Pick #324a, KNB14 edition, serial number A/4 289979; the obverse features a portrait of King George VI in military uniform on the right, with the words "Hong Kong Government" and "One Dollar" in reverse vertical writing in both Chinese and English, and the date of issue, April 9, 1949, officially signed by the Financial Secretary; the reverse features a full-page, finely engraved security mesh pattern, with the words "One Dollar" vertically in the center. Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co (BWC) in the UK, this is a classic green one-dollar legal tender from the early post-World War II Hong Kong government.
