This is an official pattern coin of the 1-Won coin minted by the People's Republic of Korea in 2002, corresponding to the year 91 of the Republic of Korea. It is made of aluminum alloy and has the Numista reference number 34222. Pattern coins were intended for mint archiving, central bank verification, and international coin exhibitions only; they were never released into public circulation. Their surviving quantity is far less than that of ordinary circulating coins, making them extremely rare.
