A 2002 (Juche 91) Korean People's Republic 50 Chon aluminum pattern coin, Numista number 34219; The obverse features the Korean national emblem, surrounded by the Hangul inscription "Central Bank of the Korean People's Republic," with the denomination "50 Chon" at the bottom and olive branch patterns on both sides; The reverse features the Kim Jong-il flower as the main image, surrounded by the Hangul inscription "Immortal Flower 'Kim Jong-il Flower'," with Juche 91 (2002) at the bottom and dotted decoration around the edge.
This is a specially minted pattern coin, intended for archival purposes only, and not circulated in the market. The relief is full and three-dimensional, the metallic luster is intact, with slight original fine lines, and no serious wear, oxidation, or scratches. It is a rare and valuable modern Korean pattern coin.
