This 50 Won aluminum circulating coin was issued by the People's Republic of Korea in Juche 94 (2005 AD). It belongs to the 2005 new standard circulating coin series and is a medium-denomination subsidiary coin in this set. Together with the 5, 10, 100, and 200 Won coins, it forms a complete circulating set and is a classic collectible item among Northeast Asian socialist coins.

Obverse of the National Emblem

• The surrounding Korean inscription: 조선인민공화국중앙은행, translated as "Central Bank of the People's Republic of Korea"

• The central three-dimensional relief of the national emblem: integrating Mount Paektu, a hydroelectric power plant, rice ears, and a five-pointed star, with clear lines and layers.

• Below the national emblem, the Korean inscription "오십 원" means "fifty won," corresponding to the face value of 50 Won.

• The bottom is marked with the year "주체94 (2005)," using the North Korean calendar, with the internationally recognized Gregorian calendar year in parentheses.

• The coin has a smooth, rounded edge with no serrations.

Reverse of the Denomination

• The visual core is the stylized, bold numeral "50," with a double-layered concentric relief outline within the numeral, a unique and aesthetically pleasing design. Below the numeral is the Korean currency unit "원 (Won)".

• The outer rim is decorated with a continuous dotted border, consistent with the style of the 100 Won coin in the same series.
