Obverse Details

The left and right sides bear the vertical characters for "Hong Kong," and the bottom is marked with the Chinese characters for "Five Dollars" and the number 5.

Main Image and Emblem：The left side features a three-dimensional engraving of the then-current Standard Chartered Hong Kong headquarters building, with the central double-lion royal coat of arms and the English terms of payment commitment. The lower left corner has the serial number M921660, and the lower right corner bears the handwritten signatures of two bank executives.
