This is a 1947 North Korean first-generation 15-cheon watermark banknote, Pick #5a. The obverse features the inscription "North Korean Central Bank Note" and "Fifty Cheon," along with the year of issue, 1947. The reverse features a large denomination of 15 paired with Korean script. It is a rare example of the first subsidiary currency issued in the early years of the Republic of Korea.
